Divorce

We can help you with all types of family law matters, including:

  • Negotiating an agreement with your ex-partner about how to divide your property
  • Negotiating an agreement with your ex-partner about who your children should live with, and what time they should spend with the other parent (previously referred to as child 'custody' disputes)
  • Advising you about whether an agreement you have reached with your ex-partner about how to divide your property is just and equitable
  • Advising you about whether any parenting arrangements you are considering are in the best interests of your children
  • Documenting an agreement you have already reached with your ex-partner
  • Representing you at mediations, Conciliation Conferences or settlement conferences with your ex-partner and/or their solicitor
  • Guiding you through the process of making an application to the Federal Circuit Court or Family Court for property settlement (property division) Orders, or parenting Orders, or both
  • Preparing Response documents if you have been served with an Application in the Federal Circuit Court or Family Court about property settlement, parenting matters, or both
  • Filing an Application for Divorce, or helping you if you have been served with an Application, and
  • All other aspects of family law separation and divorce matters.

Newcastle Family Law agency Court work

Stevens Family Law & Mediation is pleased to accept agency briefs to appear at all Court events in the Newcastle Registry of the Federal Circuit Court and Family Court, to attend to filing documents, and to inspect and report on Subpoena material.
